Umbrella Tree,Schefflera arboricola
The Umbrella Tree will do well in a room that gets a medium amount of natural light. Bright, sunny, or overly warm windows should be avoided.
The Umbrella Tree prefers bright, indirect light. She can tolerate low to medium light but will grow more slowly.
The Umbrella Tree is more tolerant of dry soil than overwatering. Water when the top several inches of soil are dry. When watering, remove the plant from its decorative planter and water with fresh water lightly and slowly from above, allowing water to soak through to the roots, then tip out any excess water before returning the plant to its decorative planter. Avoid splashing the leaves when watering to prevent discoloration.
Does well at room temperature between 60°F - 77°F. Cold temperatures should be avoided.
Prefers higher levels of humidity, around 75% or above. If the air around the plant is too dry, use a humidifier or occasionally mist the plant to increase humidity.
The plant can live happily in the provided grow pot for up to a year. Check if the plant is ready to be repotted by touching the soil and seeing if it has become loose, or if the roots have filled the bottom of the pot. Use a rich, well-draining potting soil. Repot every 1-2 years in the Spring. When your plant is ready to be repotted, you can follow our simple how-to guide.
Unhealthy Plant Signs
