Placement

The Cordyline will do well in a room that gets a medium amount of natural light. Bright, sunny, or overly warm windows should be avoided. Rotate the plant occasionally to encourage even growth.

Light Requirements

The Cordyline needs medium, indirect sunlight. Avoid direct sunlight.

Watering Needs

Water when the top 1/2 inch of the soil is dry. When watering, water lightly and slowly from above, allowing water to soak through to the roots, then tip out any excess water. Keep the soil continuously moist, but reduce watering in the cold season.

Temperature Preferences

Does well at room temperature between 60°F - 77°F. Cold temperatures should be avoided and the plant should be kept away from drafts and cold.

Humidity Tolerance

Prefers higher levels of humidity, around 75% or above. If the air around the plant is too dry, use a humidifier or occasionally mist the plant to increase humidity.

Repotting Needs

The plant can live happily in the provided grow pot for up to a year. Check if the plant is ready to be repotted by touching the soil and seeing if it has become loose, or if the roots have filled the bottom of the pot. Repot using a rich, well-draining soil. Unhealthy Plant Signs

Browning and withering leaves may be a sign of underwatering. If you notice brown tips on the leaves despite proper watering, try switching your water to non-fluoridated or distilled water, as fluoride is mildly toxic to the Cordyline.
